Your guide greets you with warm soy milk and a brief history of Beijing snack culture.
Stroll to a 100-year-old stall renowned for its tanghulu. Watch the master skew and glaze each berry before you taste the sweet-tart treat.
Step inside a beloved family noodle shop. Learn to hand-pull noodles, stir the signature soybean paste, and plate your own bowl of fragrant zhajiangmian.
Enter a restored Qing palace kitchen. Sample delicate court pastries—lotus seed buns, egg-custard tarts, and steamed flower-shaped cakes—while hearing tales of palace banquets.
Wander narrow lanes sampling jianbing (savory crepes), fried dough twists, and freshly pressed soybean milk, each from historic family stalls.
Conclude with gongfu tea service and traditional snacks in a shaded courtyard. Discuss Beijing’s food legends as you browse an illustrated “Culinary Legends” booklet.
Your guide drops you at the nearest subway station or offers optional transfer back to your hotel.
