Start the day in a cluster of old textile factories turned into Shanghai’s leading contemporary art enclave. Visit top galleries like ShanghART and Vanguard Gallery, and chat briefly with resident artists (subject to availability).
Stop at a local favorite tucked inside the compound—grab a coffee or seasonal drink while your guide shares background on Shanghai’s independent art development and the post-90s artist boom.
Ride-share or short metro ride to West Bund. Enjoy a casual riverside lunch (self-pay), with several hip bistros and street food stalls around the museum area.
Enter the cavernous halls of the Long Museum. Admire large-scale installations and curated exhibitions from both Chinese and international artists. Your guide helps decode key pieces and architectural features.
Stroll along the West Bund riverside path, with views of the Yangtze and outdoor sculptures. Stop at known graffiti spots and pop-up spaces used for indie photography and street performance.
Choose between a glass of wine at a quiet rooftop café or browsing art books at Sinan Books (West Bund branch), known for its themed selections and river views.
Wrap up with tips on nearby galleries, exhibitions, or nightlife options in Xuhui and downtown Shanghai.
